Know The Manufacturing Steps of Solar Panels
Solar panel is a manmade device, which absorbs light/energy from the sun and changes this energy/light into electricity. With technological advancements and improvement in its manufacturing process, the efficiency of a solar panel is far better than one a few years ago. Due to low cost and high efficiency in usable electricity production, people across the world have started using it. After one time cost in its purchase and installation, you can generate electricity at free of cost for 25-30 years.
Many of you would have queries – how a solar panel
is made, what materials are used in its production, how different parts are
placed together to make it, etc. The first thing to keep in mind that a solar
panel manufacturer has many solar panel making machines installed at the
production floor and the employees working there have to follow a certain
procedure. Here are all the manufacturing steps in brief:
·
Cell Cutting – With the use of laser
cutting machine, skilled workers cut cells. Cell sizes depends on your expected
watts.
·
Stringing Process – It is a fully
automated process. Engineers use solar module line automation here.
·
Solar Glass Making
·
Visual Inspection – Technicians examine
to find out errors or faults if there are.
·
Tapping – Experts tape the cells.
·
Connection – Technicians connect each
cell by soldering.
·
Insulate Module Connection – The technicians
insulate the connections with the use of EVA encapsulation and back sheet.
·
Mirror observation – The quality experts
check the module for colour mismatch, any dust particles, etc.
·
EI Testing – With the use of an EI
Machine, the technicians do the EI testing of a solar panel module. This
testing helps to find out low power/dead cell, cracks, and short circuit cells.
·
Lamination – The experts laminate the
module at 140-degree Celsius.
·
Trimming of the back sheet – The technicians
remove the excess materials from the back side by trimming.
·
Frame Cutting – To border the solar
panels, the experienced technicians cut frames in different sizes.
·
Frame Punching – The technicians punch
the frame holes for grounding or moulding purposes.
·
Sealant Filling – The experts fill
sealants in the frames to protect them from dust, air, or moisture.
·
Fixing Junction Box – There is an
attachment of junction boxes to modules with the use of sealants.
·
Module Cleaning – Workers wipe the
outside of each module to remove dust, extra sealant, or foreign particles.
·
Module Testing – The experts carry out a
final inspection.
·
Packing – Workers pack solar panel
modules in corrugated boxes with foam and allied materials.
